Rob's Summer Home

After almost 3,000 miles of driving we made it to Virginia Beach today. Rob will spend the next 10 weeks here at a training course. He went and checked into the school he will be at, then he went to the BOQ (Bachelor Officer Quarters) to check into a room there. He had booked a room there 3 months ago, but when he attempted to check in they just handed him a form saying there were no rooms. Uh Oh! So he had to find a hotel out in town that would schedule a 75 night stay, which was fine but a little more notice would have been nice.

We went back to the Marriott we're staying at and he asked the manager if he would authorize an extended government stay, and surprisingly he said Yes!! So now Rob has an ocean front room, in the Penthouse of the Marriott right on the Virginia Beach strip, paid for by you, Taxpayer!! Thank You!

Just a ways down from the hotel is this statue of Neptune, God of the Sea. I call him King Triton. :) You can kind of see Ava and I in front of him, wearing sweatshirts. It's cold on the mainland!!
