This weekend we moved the crib out of Ava's room and put in her big girl mattress. We didn't move the bed frame and box spring in yet so she can used to it without falling out. She did great on night #1, didn't get up at all, and is doing great again so far tonight! (With my luck she will walk out of her room now since I wrote that). Hopefully being able to sleep in a big bed will make our trip across country a bit easier.
She looks so tiny in a big girl bed! And her room looks pretty bare without her crib and changing table in there. We'll be getting her some big girl furniture when we settle into DC. It kinda makes me sad she's not in her crib anymore, she got big way too fast. Good thing we've got another one on the way who can occupy the crib!

Thanks Katie! Time did go by fast Machelle. She's still doing great for bedtime but won't take a nap in her bed.....if you have any advice Katie I'd love to hear it!

Big girl beds were the ban of our existence!! lol The girls take one book to read in bed with them (which helped them to calm down and not figit around) then I sat in ther doorway and just stare them down and made them stay in their beds till they give in and went to sleep. If they got out of bed Id put them back and once they realized getting in and out a million times wasnt an option we were good to go! Def dont give up naps just bc of her new found freedom. If you can get her to just stay in bed theyll end up falling sleep even if it just out of pure boredom lol. The girls have "given up" naps like 3x and theyve always had to still have quiet time and read in their beds and that way they still nap when they really need it and I still get a break (yay)!! GOOD LUCK!!
