Social Distancing Challenges

 As the weather has warmed up staying in doors has become more challenging.  The kids see their friends in the neighborhood when they're out on their bikes and do their best to stay far apart.  This past Sunday one of Jake's good friends that lives on Brackenwood celebrated his 9th birthday.  His parents organized a neighborhood scavenger hunt with sibling teams needing to locate about 25 things in the neighborhood.  They all started out on bikes but then ended up on foot.  A neighbor sent me this pic of the kids, Reagan was getting tired and looking for a ride!

On Monday, Owen's real birthday, his parents organized a tail gate at a large parking lot. Everyone stood by their trunks and surprised him when he arrived their with his family to get take out. It was a lot of fun, but once again so hard to keep people apart, the kids miss their friends as do we.

 We have been spending a little time with our neighbors (well my Mom's) that are right next door to her.  They have become good family friends and are Jake's best friend Luke's family.  Their 2 boys and Jake do a couple laps together on their bikes daily.  Jake's brakes ended up going out on his bike and from what I heard he flipped over the handle bars and went flying going down a hill. His friend Luke biked home very upset to tell his parents, who called me, so I went out in the car to look for him.  Their other friends that were out on bikes ended up finding him first.  They were so sweet and worried about him and just trying to get him home.  I loaded his bike in the car and checked out his injuries, the boys were all waiting on the corner for us to drive by chanting "Hammy Hammy" (his nickname).  I can't wait until they can all be together again like this in the neighborhood.

 Ava has been wrapped up in her new burrito blanket still living the homeschool tween life up in her room.

 Reagan has been enjoying writing letters and mailing them to friends and family, she likes to watch for the mail to make sure they get picked up.

 Louie is always happy to help with homeschool.....
